What you might do as a volunteer therapist

• Provide treatments to patients on various wards at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Children’s hospital. We require three years professional experience prior  to working at the hospital; apart from being an ActiveLightworks volunteer you will also become a volunteer with the Brighton & East Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.
• Give taster treatments for individuals from local community groups and charities at their local community events, local health fairs or other one-off events across the city. on a regular basis.
• Hold self-help group sessions at local community events to help promote a better understanding of the complementary therapy that you are trained in and how people can use simple aspects of this to support their own health at home.
• Provide one-off or repeat treatments to clients from local community groups at one of our dedicated treatment rooms.
• Help clients in their reflective process during repeat treatments.
• Participate in our evaluation process to collect evidence of the effectiveness and value of our work.
• Participate in one of our fundraising events.

Active LightWorks also always has lots of other tasks to do within our charity and welcomes any enthusiastic person who would like to add their skills and ideas to our work. We are especially looking for:
